Meet the Maker Team | October at Pink Peony Fabric Shop

There’s something about October that feels like the perfect time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the people who bring our creative community to life. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on our incredible Maker Team — the talented group of women who dream, stitch, laugh, and create alongside us, both here and afar, with Pink Peony.
Each of these makers brings her own spark to our shop family, and together they embody what Pink Peony is all about: creativity, friendship, and the joy of making.
Jamie | Founder of Pink Peony Fabric Shop
Quilter and new garment sewist — lover of all things fiber and handmade. Jamie has a deep passion for lifelong learning and creating. She just finished the top of her five-year-long wool appliqué BOM project (and it was worth every stitch!).
She’s currently working on the Sidney Shirt from Merchant & Mills using Fableism’s Checkmate — a dream combo.
Favorite thing: The Quilter’s Select ruler — “It grips my fabric like no other. A must-have in any sewing room.”
Lauren | Maker Team Member
Lauren loves to play with color and texture in her projects. She’s currently working on a wedding quilt using Fableism Sprout Wovens and also helping a few women in her community learn to sew this fall.
Favorite things: Fableism fabrics and rulers of all shapes and sizes. “There’s a perfect ruler for every project.”
Amanda | Maker Team Member
Amanda has been working on a cheerful quilt using the new Lucky Loom collection from Fableism and is also learning how to refurbish vintage quilt tops.
Favorite thing: Her Janome Straight Stitch machine for piecing and the Stripology Ruler for precise cutting. "This machine sews through wovens like butter!"
Lacey | Maker Team Member
Lacey brings so much joy and light to our shop. When she’s not behind the camera capturing photos or curating stunning fabric bundles, she’s piecing her latest quilt. Right now she’s sewing with the House of Lars “Swedish Holiday” collection using the Star Pop quilt pattern.
Favorite thing: Pink Peony’s flannel selection! “Soft, warm, and gorgeous — perfect backing fabric for cozy quilts.”
America Brosius| Maker Team Member
America’s creativity knows no bounds — she moves effortlessly between quilting, embroidery, and garment alterations for her thriving business, America’s Finest Sewing. She’s currently working on handstitching binding of this quilt
Favorite thing: Gingher Featherweight scissors — “They cut through all fabrics effortlessly, making every project feel finished and professional.”
Becky Jane | Maker Team Member & Instructor
Becky Jane is our sewing educator extraordinaire, guiding students through garment construction and French seams with style and patience. This month she’s sewing another sample of the Sidney Sweatshirt for a class she is offering in the shop! She used Fableism woven fabric and our Merchant & Mills ribbing.
Favorite thing: Becky's favorite thing to make is her fanny pack! "They are quick and fun and you can make them in heavy canvas or a quilted version…. I also really love the kite pants from Matchy Matchy and can’t wait to make more!"
Maker Retreat Highlights
Our first Maker Retreat was everything we hoped it would be — and more!
A weekend filled with laughter, encouragement, creativity, and community. We stitched, shared stories, learned from each other, and left feeling inspired and connected. It was such a blessing to spend time together surrounded by fabric, friendship, and the hum of sewing machines.
We can’t wait to do it again soon! Stay tuned for photos and a video recap.
We like to think of the Maker Team as just one piece of a much bigger picture — our whole Pink Peony family! Whether you’re near or far, stitching along with us at home, joining a class, or cheering from your sewing room, you are a vital part of what makes this community so special.
